How to Consign
How it Works
- Items are accepted on consignment. You get paid once the items sell. We do not offer cash up-front buy outs. See consignment percentages below.
- No appointment necessary, simply just bring your items in during our drop off hours.
- No setup fee.
- Items are on a 90 consignment and are subject to markdowns every 30 days. Seasonal items may be subject to shorter consignment times.
- We ask that items are in excellent condition, current styles and from a smoke free home. Items must be brought in on hangers or fold neatly in tubs or reusable bags*. *We do not accept items in trash bags.
- Drop offs are limited to no more than 2 standard (15 gallon) storage tubs or equivalent. We will allow no more than 2 of our in-store carts per consignor per day.
- You may drop off items once per day.
- Drop & Donates should be kept to a maximum equivalent of one regular sized tub. These will be sorted as time allows, and could take up to a week for items to be sorted/entered onto your account.
- Unaccepted items not claimed at end of day will be donated the next morning. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to store unaccepted merchandise. We understand life happens, and occasionally you may not be able to get back by the time we close. If this happens, please give us a call and make arrangements to pick up the unaccepted items the following morning.
- Items accepted on consignment will be listed on your account within 48-72 hours. All jewelry and luxury items are held for a manager to price, and can take a bit longer to appear on your account.
- If you have designer or luxury items you would like to discuss pricing on prior to committing to the 90 day consignment period, you must mention as such to the associate at time of drop off. We will authenticate the item and propose a price to you, at which point you can determine whether or not you would like to continue with consignment. This process can take up to a week.
Payments
- Monthly payouts of $50 or more will be sent via direct deposit (Simple Pay).
- Account balances of $100 or less may be picked up anytime in store.
- Account balances of $100 or more (and customer wants to pick up in-store) will be paid via check. There will be a $4.50 check fee. Consignors must give 24 hour notice for checks over $500.
- **Our preference is that all consignors sign up for Simple Pay.
SimpleACH Payment
- Things to know:
- You, the consignor, enter your bank account information into your secure, online account portal.
- We do NOT have any access to your bank account.
- Simple Pay is processed on the 1st week of the month. The $2.50 fee is deducted from the account immediately. The direct deposit does not hit consignors account for 2-4 business days.
- We must have your email address on file for you to have online access to your account. We will then send you an email to set up a secure account.
What Amanda's Exchange Is:
We offer a convenient way to sell your clothing, accessories, furniture and home goods on consignment. To sell on consignment means that we partner together to present your merchandise in an attractive way– in order to sell it and generate income for the both of us. Amanda’s Exchange selects merchandise that meets the demand of what our customer base is seeking. Items must be in excellent condition.
What Amanda's Exchange Is Not:
A donation drop site or thrift store. Since we are a consignment store, we methodically select the merchandise that we will place on our floor for sale. Items that we are unable to accept are returned to you (the consignor). While we are able to accept small quantities of merchandise that we will donate to an outside source on your behalf, please pre-sort your items to meet our consignment guidelines prior to bringing the merchandise into the store. Due to the volume of consignments we accept, we are unable to sort large “drop and donates” that do not fit the guidelines outlined on our website.

- Children's Boutique Clothing
- Seasonal girl's and boy's clothing
- Sizes newborn - 8.
- Better to boutique labels.
- Designer diaper bags and accessories.
- Linens and decor.
- Preteen girls and boys better brands and athletic wear sizes 10 - 16.
- Home Furnishings (Fill out furniture approval form below for large items.)
- Home Decor
- Artwork, lamps, and rugs.
- Plants (April 1st - September 1st)
- Big plants, Little plants, succulents, etc.
- Healthy houseplants only please.
- Must be in a nice pot with a drip tray.
- Please no herbs or vegetables.
Large Furniture Items
All items are approved in-store except large furniture. For large furniture approval, please visit the link below and fill out our "furniture approval form". Answer the questions to the best of your ability and upload pictures of your items.
Approved furniture may be brought in anytime, preferably Monday through Friday. Please call us with at least 72 hours of notice prior to bringing items to the store. We do ask that you have someone with you to help unload your items. If you need assistance from a mover, we can recommend one.

- We will be accepting unique, higher end Christmas decor, bags of ornaments and greenery (such as Frontgate, Dept 56, vintage decor, decor from specialty stores). Please avoid bringing items with a retail value of $15 or less, ornaments or decor with dates (Excluding vintage), no name villages, individual main stream ornaments, etc) Dishes & china sets must be complete sets.
- Prom & Wedding Dresses: Amanda’s Exchange does not consign these items.
Drop-Off Hours
- Monday-Thursday: 10am-6pm
- Friday: 10am-5pm
- Sunday:12pm-5pm
- Drop-offs are not accepted on Saturdays.
Consignment Percentages
- For items priced under $94, the consignor receives 40% of the selling price.
- For items priced $95 - $500, the consignor receives 50% of the selling price.
- For items priced over $501, the consignor receives 60% of the selling price.
- Luxury handbag consignments offer a higher percentage that will be discussed at time of consignment.
