From the Runway: Autumn/Winter 2024 Fashion Trends
Fashion has long been fantastical and artful, yet inaccessible for the general public. While it still is very much an art, for once, the high fashion runways seem to be achievable by even the budget consumer. There are not ton of new silhouettes or textiles this season, but rather new ways to style and pair. Here are a few of the trends we are most looking forward to.
- Barrel Silhouettes - In general, trousers are in, ladies! The barrel style has been on the rise since its introduction in the A/W23 Anaïa show, and it’s still increasing in popularity. Think of this as an elevated style of the oversized pant. It adds more shape while keeping the street style alive. We are obsessed!
- Roll Neck Knits - Keep moving mock necks, a different sweater is taking charge this season. The fold-over look is giving cozy English countryside winter and we love it.
- Poofy Perfection - The Netflix show Bridgerton is having an effect on us all, right? Romantic silhouettes with puffy sleeves, skirts, and layers showed up in this season’s runway shows quite a bit. This is an 80’s trend we’ll take happily!
- Not Your Mother’s Drapes - Elegant yet undone. Draping of fabrics as scarves was all over the runway. From coats thrown over one shoulder to scarves laid backwards down the back, many designers played with draping to add texture and volume to even simple looks.
We are loving how this Autumn/Winter season is looking. The working girl, business chic aesthetic is so fun to play with in the cooler months. Keeping looks fun yet accessible by playing with shape and volume. Trending details, patterns, and fabrics can easily be incorporated into your closet so that keeping up with fashion isn’t a chore.
